Spice Briefs

I finally did it, I submitted a project to Spice Briefs for consideration the eHarlequin eBook only line.  Now I can sit around for the next 3 to 6 months second guessing what I should have wrote.  In the end I had my girlfriend edit the manuscript and add some of her prose to it.  Therefore I credit her with authorship as well.  I already know that I should have added more description about some of the people and events in the story.  At this point my hope is that they will at least provide me with some guidance on writing publishable erotica.  Here is a short excerpt:

Once she had him partially inserted she began to squat up and down, slowly working his cock deeper.  Her tight, pink pussy was so wet it was making a slippery suction noise each time she would raise her ass up off of his lap.  James took advantage of having her breasts in his face again and began to suck on them.  First sucking the left and rubbing on the right, then switching after a few moments.  Her nipples were so hard; he had sucked them until they felt like they would explode.  She could feel he was going to leave bruises on her, but she didn’t care, it felt so good.

Best of luck – it’s a tough forum to break into!! write because you love it – not for the publishing. If you write our of love for the genre – the rest will come. You’ll just have to trust me on that one.

Thanks, and thanks for the advice. It is something we really enjoy doing and we have always talked about writing books together. So far the plan is to just write and write and see where that goes. And there are definitely benefits to doing that, wink wink. We checked out your blog and it looks like a great resource for inspiration!

Feel free to comment on what you liked, or not … I always enjoy real feedback. DO you know about the poor man’s copyright?
Print what you wrote, mail it to yourself and never open the envelope. The postage stamp of the date and the sealed envelope acts as “proof” that the story was yours before someone else’s.

I have an editor and publisher. But took years and a lot of thick skin and anything you see on my blog “wasn’t good enough” for the books. It’s tough but if you love it … well it’s not a job then is it.
Don’t expect to make money from it either. You won’t. Royalties are peanuts. There’s no money in this genre.

Have fun – THAT is what matters.
